Multi-Step Sequences

Create effective follow-up campaigns with multiple email steps.

Last updated: December 10, 2025

Why Multi-Step?

Most candidates don't respond to the first email. Follow-ups significantly increase your chances of getting a reply.

• 1st email: ~10% reply rate

• 2nd email: +15% additional replies

• 3rd email: +10% additional replies

Adding Steps

To add a follow-up step:

1. Scroll to the bottom of your first step

2. Click "Add Step"

3. Configure timing, content, and settings

Timing Between Steps

For follow-ups, you can set:

• Days — wait 2 days before sending

• Business Days — skip weekends

• Specific Time — send at 10am recipient's time

Best practice: Wait 3-4 business days between follow-ups. Too soon feels pushy.

Follow-Up Best Practices

Step 2: The Bump

Keep it short. Reference the first email:

"Hi {First Name}, wanted to bump this to the top of your inbox..."

Step 3: New Value

Offer something new:

• Additional information about the role

• Relevant company news

• Industry insight

Step 4: Break-Up

Final follow-up, give them an easy out:

"If now isn't the right time, no worries. Let me know if I should reach out later."

Automatic Stop

When a candidate replies to any step:

• All future steps are automatically cancelled

• Their status updates to "Replied"

• You get notified

You can also manually stop, pause, or resume sequences for specific candidates.

LinkedIn Steps

Add LinkedIn actions between emails:

• Connection Request

• LinkedIn Message / InMail

LinkedIn steps create tasks — you'll be reminded to complete them manually.
